Trivia[]
- Episode Lip-Sync: Spanish and English
- This episode's title was originally uploaded as "The Lost Cases of the Tree House", but was then fixed.
- The rear protector commercial from "The Lost Cases of Townsville" returns, and the narrator states that he's finally finished it, referencing how Demencia interrupted him mid-advertisement in that episode.
- Unlike the other episodes of the Orientation Videos for Villains, this episode was uploaded on the second Saturday of the month instead of the first.
- Alan Ituriel's explanation on Twitter was that Dr. Flug told him Demencia kept breaking the video, and that there was maybe something she didn't like about it.[3]
- According to animator Diego Mejia, there was initially a scene where Demencia would yell at Flug to turn on the boiler in the middle of a video but it was passed on as the joke didn't make sense since the character does not bathe.[4]
Cartoon Network/Warner Bros./Hanna Barbera references/cameos[]
- The Amoeba Boys from The PowerPuff Girls were used as an example of useless punks with delusions of grandeur.
- The Toiletnator from Codename: Kids Next Door, Lord Boxman (with a dunce cap and donkey ears in a droll expression) from OK KO! Let's Be Heroes, Yellow Diamond from the Steven Universe episode "The Trial" vaporizing a Prosecuting Zircon and the Robot Army from the Samurai Jack episode "Jack vs. Aku" were used as examples of villains with an army of subordinates who are less pathetic yet slow-minded. Another clip from the same episode was used to reference that Aku was a "pathetic crybaby with no large-scale vision".
- A clip of Fred Flintstone from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy episode "Modern Primitives" pounding his chest on a burning smashed car was used as an example of "a primitive practice".
- For the "Localize Your Adversary" screenshot, an armored Demencia was shown prepared to vaporize a scared Weasel from I Am Weasel.
- An invasion screenshot shows Fred FredBurger from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy wielding a laser gun in front of Flapjack, K'nuckles and Bubbie.
- A clip of Gunter with his army in the Adventure Time episode "Reign of Gunters" was shown as an example of sending troops with their bellies full. Another clip was shown where the Gunters infiltrate a Candy Kingdom wall.
- A clip of Mojo Jojo wearing his steel plate on his buttocks in the episode "Monkey See, Doggy Two" was shown as an example of rule 25: never neglet your rear.
- The traffic bed scene from The PowerPuff Girls episode "Meet the Beat-Alls" was used as an example of bounty hunters making their trays difficult.
- A screenshot showing a hooded Vilgax harassing XLR8 and Grandpa Max from the Ben 10 reboot shows as an example of harassing a hero's team.
- Another screenshot shows a Navy Ruby ejecting Steven Universe, Peridot and Lapis Lazuli from her spaceship as an example of gaining a hero's trust and betraying them later.
- On the advertisement for "The Vulture" BHO Insurance company shows Beakey Buzzard from the Looney Tunes cartoons in a "Before/After" screenshot with the "After" being a more malicious version of him.
- A clip of Ricardo being stomped on from the Adventure Time episode "Lady & Peebles" was shown as an example of Rule 42: Don't Stop Attacking Until the Heart of Your Enemy Stops Pumping.
- The clips shown when Dr. Flug wanted to watch something more entertaining include:
- Johnny Bravo with the Mystery Gang in the episode "Bravo Dooby Doo".
- Jasper getting vaporized in the Steven Universe episode "Jail Break"
- The clip of Steven Universe nodding to Peridot in the episode "Keeping it Together" was shown when Flug was shocked on how Magnum Kranus got influenced by words of love.
Cultural reference[]
- The Cumbancha plane model that stands in Dr. Flug's desk is a nod to Mr. Burns' "Spruce Moose" (Cumbancha in the Latin American dubbing) plane model in The Simpsons episode "$pringfield (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling)". That reference was made by animator Diego Mejia who fought with the directors to keep that reference in.[5]
- The monster that ate Anti-Pops/Malum Kranus, named Gowolik (after the Green Lantern character Kilowog), was inspired by the Olocoons from the Mexican animated mini-series of the same name. The design and namesake was conceived by animator Diego Mejia.[6]
- The "no internet" scene is a reference to Google Chrome's "There is no internet connection" message which has a side-scrolling dinosaur game within the message.
